MAKHOSI SARAH WAGER URGENT SURGERY
July, 2024
Currently, our dear friend + traditional healer in the film, Makhozi Sarah Wager, is struggling. For the past 11 years, she has been facing rheumatoid arthritis and associated illnesses. As a woman and bridge-builder doing deep cultural + healing work in a rural Zulu community, she isn’t doing the work ‘for the money.’ This is her life’s work. She has very limited finances and hence, she needs to raise funds. This is an opportunity for us and the broader community to value her and Muvo’s vital work in the world. Small or large donations are invited for removal of this pin.
Sacred EartH Africa Izangoma
protection of sacred sites
preservation of indigenous knowledge
distance consultations + readings
mentorship courses
There was a coming together of cultures, races, and worlds when English-born Sarah Wager trained with her Zulu teachers and lineage as a Sangoma. She then found her Zulu partner Makhozi Muvo Ngcobo and they co-founded together ‘Sacred Earth Africa Izangoma,’ a way to interface their work with the world. For the last nearly two decades, the work that Makhosi Sarah Wager, Makhosi Muvo Ngcobo, and their lineage of the Lion have undertaken is to serve as a preserver of endangered indigenous wisdom and a bridge between polarized cultures and races. They work on conservancy of sacred sites, cultural ambassadorship, preservation of indigenous knowledge, protection of habitat and medicinal plants, mentorship programs, as well as consultations + readings, under the umbrella of ‘Sacred Earth Africa Izangoma.’

Influenced by Patti-Smith-style Rock n’ Roll mixed with her own mystic wandering lyricism and a healthy dose of nature and shamanic influences from her time with the Sangomas, sound healers, and herbalists - Tarynn has stepped into an innate expression of her calling.
